Lines at the Texas Union usually end with fried chicken and fortune cookies, but for the next week, they also lead to something else: ballot boxes. Early voting kicked off at the Union and across the Lone Star State Monday and will run through Friday, Nov. 1.
Registered voters in Travis County can vote right here on campus. TSTV News has compiled information for voters to know as they get ready to cast their ballots.
When and where?
Voting on campus is taking place at the Texas Union and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. The Travis County Civil and Family Courts Facility located at 17th and Guadalupe streets is also a polling location near campus.
For those who have voted on campus before, the Union may be a change of scenery. Previously, the neighboring Flawn Academic Center was used as a polling location on campus, but has been replaced by the Union this election cycle due to construction.
Other locations and polling center wait times can be found at votetravis.gov.
All Travis County polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday until Friday, Nov. 1. You can also cast your ballot on Sunday between noon and 6 p.m. Select locations, including the Texas Union, are open until 10 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 and Friday, Nov. 1.
